Aspects of Visual Content Covered in the Audio Description of Arabic Series: A Corpus-assisted Study

Abstract People with visual impairment need a special form of audio-visual translation (AVT) to have access multimedia products such as series and movies. Audio description (AD) is an AVT mode that describes what happening in the images through words. It necessary accessibility tool allows blind visually impaired visualize scenes spoken material. This study examines types information covered AD Jordanian Netflix drama ‘ Madrast Al-Rawabi LilBanat’ ( AlRawabi School for Girls ) following corpus-assisted approach. Subsequent watching transcribing verbal content, researchers conducted frequency concordance (KWIC) analyses using Wordsmith 6 (WS6) software package identify categories AD. The findings showed six categories, namely characters, actions, interpersonal interactions, settings, emotional states, on-screen texts. recommends conducting further research on Arab world expand services provided by official TV channels streaming platforms.
